Because I'd do many many things for one...
Interestingly, one of the reasons Morgans aren't currently sold in this country is because Transport Canada requires any prospective dealer to crash test at least three cars, which, if your yearly inventory is half a dozen units at best, is costly and prohibitive. For reasons that aren't easily understood, the government agency is more than willing to adopt crash test results from the U.S.-based National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for major car makers, but insists on putting boutique manufacturers through the hoops.

Is there any exemption for kit-built...
Like buy the Morgan, buy the motor, and "some assembly required"... = kit car = no crash test regs.
I still want one of these built around a Triumph Rocket III engine.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
If you want to import a kit car or a reproduction vehicle that can be driven, you must provide proof that it meets all passenger car class CMVSS before importing it. There is no difference, under the Act, between assembled and disassembled vehicles. Note : Most kit cars do NOT qualify. Therefore, kit cars cannot be manufactured to sell in Canada or imported into Canada .
Transport Canada & the Canada Border Services Agency are basically the Fun Police

I dont think Morgan's would do too well in a crash test. So its probably a good thing no one has tried.

They're probably a fair bit safer than a motorbike, unless it rolls right over on you... And since they're licenced as a motorbike in most/all(?) of the US, I don't see why they would need crash testing for Canada

I've got a couple of spares sitting around but the market price for children is way down at the moment and most of my organs aren't worth pissing on. Thanks for the suggestions anyway.
